Thursday Night Wrap-up

OHL
The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds beat the Guelph Storm tonight by a score of 4-1. Wayne Simmonds had a goal and a 2-minute roughing penalty. He was awarded the games #2 star for his efforts. Simmonds has 4 goals and 6 assist for 10 points in 9 playoffs games. Drew Doughty was held scoreless and had a 2-minute high sticking penalty. Doughty had 3 goals and 6 assist for 9 points in 10 playoff games. The Soo have won the quarterfinal series 4-1 and now move onto a semifinal clash with the Kitchener Rangers.

The Kitchener Rangers are the best team in the OHL and have yet to lose a playoff game. They have swept both series including a quarterfinal match up against Steve Stamkos and the Sarnia Sting. Top RW Prospect Mikkel Boedker plays for Kitchener.

DEL

The Berlin Polar Bears beat the DEG Metro Stars this morning by a score of 3-1. Constantin Braun had an assist and was +1 in the game. After only 11 points in 50 regular season games, Braun has lit it up in the playoffs. He has 2 goals and 5 assists in 10 playoff games. He is also a team high +7 in the playoffs. The Polar Bears won the semifinal series 3-2. They will face the Cologne Sharks for the DEL Championship. Game #1 will be held Sunday morning in Berlin.
