WHL
The Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Kootenay Ice tonight 5-2. Dwight King had a power play goal and an assist in the game. This was King’s third goal in two games. Lethbridge now leads the series 2-1 with game #4 Wednesday night in Kootenay.
Tri-City beat Seattle 3-2 tonight to take a 2-1 lead in the quarterfinal series. Thomas Hickey was not in the game because of his head injury. Bud Holloway was held scoreless and was –1 on the night. TJ Fast had an assist on the game winner and was +1. Game #4 will be Wednesday night in Seattle.
OHL
The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defeated the Guelph Storm tonight by a score of 3-2. Wayne Simmonds had a goal and an assist on the game-winner to be named the #1 star of the game. The goal was Simmonds first in this series after getting 2 goals in the first round against Saginaw. Potential prospect Drew Doughty had an assist in the game. He now has 3 goals and 6 assist in 9 playoff games. The Soo lead the quarterfinal series 3-1 as they travel home for Game #5 on Thursday night.
Down 2-0 early in the 2nd period, the Belleville Bulls fought back with three power play goals to win game #4 by a score of 3-2. Bryan Cameron started the comeback with a goal, his first point in the series. With the win, Belleville sweeps the quarterfinal series. They await the winner of the Oshawa/Niagara series. Oshawa leads the series 3-1 and look to close the series out on Friday night.
Potential prospect Alex Pietrangelo was awarded the OHL defenseman of the month. Unfortunately he is out for the rest of the playoffs with mononucleosis. I had this as a child and it just plain sucks. I wish Alex the best in his recovery!
QMJHL
The Gatineau Olympiques beat the Quebec Remparts tonight by a score of 6-2. Joey Ryan was held scoreless and was –1 in the game. He also had a couple of minor penalties and 1 hit. Gatineau now has a commanding 3-0 lead in the quarterfinal series. Game #4 will be Wednesday night in Quebec. Patrick Roy’s son, goaltender “Sugar Ray” Roy, has served his suspension and should be back in the line-up for this game.

The DEG Metro Star crushed the Berlin Polar Bears tonight 5-1. Constantin Braun had an assist on the Polar Bears only goal and was +1 in the game. The semifinal series is now tied at 2 games a-piece. The fifth and deciding game will be Thursday morning in Düsseldorfer.
